This is a reminder to people in the UK that on Sunday 17 August at The Residence in Great Yarmouth (UK), Jamiroquai musicians Derrick McKenzie (drums), Paul Turner (bass) and Rob Harris (guitar) will be holding a "masterclass" event.

"Hear them perform famous Jamiroquai tracks, and reveal the secrets of how they work as a unit - a masterclass music event."

Buffalo Man logo

Gigwise.com have put an article online listing The 50 Greatest Band Logos Of All Time! and Jamiroquai's 'buffalo man' logo is in the list at number 22.

The list was chosen by the staff of gigwise.com and I believe they picked a good logo to top the list.

Back in May of this year news appeared that Jay has been cast to act in a movie called The Finest.  Well, the IMDB.com page no longer lists him and the Jyoto Films website has removed all information about the movie from their site....

The BBC have just launched a beta of the new artist pages on the BBC Music website and the page for Jamiroquai reveals that since September 2007, Jamiroquai has been played 28 times on BBC Radio 2, and 20 times on BBC Radio 1.

So, if you want to hear Jamiroquai on BBC radio, then Radio 2 is the station to listen to, with the Ken Bruce show being the show that plays the band the most.  Regular visitors may recall that Jamiroquai performed a number of songs live on the Ken Bruce show back in November 2006.

Jay Kay - BBC Top Gear television show

Following up on the previous news that Jay was going to appear on BBC television motoring show Top Gear to take part in the "Star In A Reasonably Priced Car" feature (to try and regain his crown from Simon Cowell) the show was broadcast on Sunday evening in the UK.

After an interview about Jay's car collection and showing the footage of Jay's driving on the racing track (in a Chevrolet Lacetti), it was announced (to much delight from Jay!) that Jay drove the fastest lap on the track and is back at the top of the celebrity leaderboard.  His time was 1 minute, 45.8 seconds - beating Simon Cowell's time by 0.1 of a second!

If you're in the UK the show should be available to watch for a limited time using the BBC iPlayer or if you want to download an xvid clip from the show, head over to the downloads page.

I have just received the following information from Jamiroquai drummer Derrick McKenzie...

Hello everyone I just needed to make an announcement on the funkin site that Nude Continuum have been denied entry into the UK and have had to go back to Australia after a  long flight and dealing with the UK immigration and work permit situations, they were denied entry into the UK and therefore have had to go back home!!!!!!!

They are flying back tonight (Sunday) and will be sorting out to come back in the future.

This is a real shame as I was really looking forward to doing the gigs with them and seeing the nude crew in London, but I will have to wait a bit longer for the opportunity.

I know that James will be making an announcement as soon as he can once he gets home.

But he wanted to thank everybody for there support and love for the band and the album.

Much love to you all

Derrick
